Using the Shortcode

Using the shortcode for Video Background Pro is easy, simply paste the shortcode in the editor, and specify the necessary fields. Here is the shortcode below. Please remember, you do not need to include every parameter, only the ones that differ from the default settings.

Parameters

container: Specify the container element for your video background. For an in depth look at finding your container, please refer to the Finding Your Container Element article.
Default Value: body

type: Specify the video background type. Accepts self-host or youtube
Default Value: self-host

mp4: Specify the .mp4 file link. Only necessary if you are using a self-hosted video background.
Default Value: #

webm: Specify the .webm file link. Only necessary if you are using a self-hosted video background.
Default Value: #

youtube_url: Specify the YouTube URL. Only necessary if you are using a Youtube video background.
Default Value: #

poster: Specify the fallback image for mobile devices and browsers that can’t display video backgrounds.
Default Value: #

muted: Specify if you would like your video background muted. Accepts true or false
Default Value: true

Loop: Specify if you would like your video background to loop. Accepts true or false
Default Value: true

overlay: Specify if you would like an overlay atop your video background. Accepts true or false
Default Value: false

overlay_color: Specify the color of your overlay as a hex color. Will only work if overlay is set to true
Default Value: #000 (black)

overlay_alpha: Specify the amount of transparency your overlay will have. Accepts a value between 0.00 and 1.00 with 0 being completely transparent and 1 being full color.
Default Value: 0.3

overlay_texture_url: If you want an image pattern instead of an overlay color, you can specify the link with this parameter. Take note if this field is active the overlay_color and overlay_alpha will not be used.

frontend_play_button: Specify if you would like to enable the frontend play button. Accepts true or false
Default Value: false

frontend_volume_button: Specify if you would like to enable the frontend volume button. Accepts true or false
Default Value: false

frontend_position: Specify the position of the front-end buttons if enabled. Accepts bottom-right, bottom-left, top-right, and top-left
